Tyler McCandless is a Newton Running Elite team member based in Boulder, Colorado. Tyler was one of the youngest competitors at the 2012 USA Olympic Marathon Trials and has qualified to compete at the 2016 USA Olympic Marathon Trials. In 2014, Tyler had four top ten finishes at USA Championship races with a highlight of a new marathon personal best time of 2:15:26 at the Twin Cities Marathon in a 5th place finish. This result, and his half-marathon personal best of 1:03:14 from the Naples Half-Marathon in 2015, establish him as a contender for the 2016 Olympic Marathon Team. In addition to racing, he is on track to graduate with a PhD in Meteorology in the summer of 2015.
Tyler has been using Red Ace for several years after researching the scientific studies that show the health and performance benefits of drinking beet juice daily. He consumes one shot of beet juice every morning and doubles that on race day morning!
