After receiving awards as an All-American college soccer player, Jared Nieters was able to adapt his fitness to endurance sports, spending time running, competing in triathlons. He eventually found he was drawn to road cycling and cyclocross. Jared has been competing in cyclocross professionally for the last four seasons achieving over 30 elite wins as well as multiple top ten results at the National Championships.
Before transitioning to racing full time, Nieters received the Educators Fulbright Scholarship and spent 8 years as a high school history teacher. He remains active in the education community, as a contributor to regional education publications, and serving as president of the Rappahannock County Education Association.
As so many endurance athletes, Jared is diligent about his food consumptions. Vegetarian for nearly two decades, his eating choices are very important and his race day routine has included beets and beet juice for years.
